Vi was originally founded in 1987 under the name Classic Residence by Hyatt, with the intent to bring a high-end, hospitality-inspired approach to senior living. The brand officially rebranded to 'Vi' in 2010.
The company maintains 10 Life Plan Communities across six states—Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, and South Carolina.
In May 2026, Vi became a part of LCS (Life Care Services), a longer-established operator of Life Plan and senior living communities, headquartered in Des Moines, Iowa, which added Vi’s 10 communities to its portfolio.
Vi emphasizes a hospitality-driven lifestyle model for older adults, offering stylish apartments, culinary offerings, lifestyle programming, and access to a continuum of care on site.
