About Saber Healthcare Group

Saber Healthcare Group was founded in 2001 by Bill Weisberg and George Repchick in the Cleveland area with only two skilled nursing facilities. Since then, the company has expanded significantly, growing to over 140 skilled nursing and assisted living communities across Ohio, Indiana, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Virginia, and North Carolina.

The company remains privately held. Bill Weisberg continues to serve as CEO, and he co-founded the company alongside George Repchick. In January 2026, Omega Healthcare Investors acquired a 9.9% equity stake in the operating company.

Saber affiliates operate over 140 communities in six states, employing more than 16,000 caregivers and serving over 12,000 residents daily. CMS-linked data indicates the chain includes 127 nursing facilities.

The organization provides a broad continuum of care, including skilled nursing, rehabilitation, long-term care, assisted living, memory care, and personal care. They also offer specialized services such as ventilator management, dialysis, cardiac, pulmonary care, and holistic “PATH” programs aimed at transitioning residents home safely.

NursingHomeDatabase reports the chain averages a 2.9-star overall CMS rating as of June 1, 2026. Facilities span six states and include for-profit corporations and LLCs, with a small number of government and nonprofit sites. Staffing averages approx. 3.46 hours per resident per day.
