About The Mcguire Group

THE MCGUIRE GROUP is a private, for-profit corporation that manages six skilled nursing facilities in New York State, offering post-acute rehabilitation and long-term care, certified under both Medicare and Medicaid.

VestraCare acquired a 20% ownership stake in the McGuire Group in December 2016, while the McGuire family retained majority control. At that time, the chain included seven facilities spanning New York and Michigan.

The McGuire Group is a for-profit entity functioning under both corporate and LLC structures across its six facilities. In 2016, it entered into a partnership with VestraCare, which acquired a 20% ownership interest. Leadership roles were maintained: Frank J. McGuire remained chairman, F. James McGuire as CEO, and Stephen Mercurio as president; Edward Farbenblum joined as an officer/director.

As of December 1, 2025, the group operates six nursing facilities in New York—with no facilities reported outside the state at that time. The facilities range from around 160 to 230 beds apiece.

The McGuire Group delivers skilled nursing care, post-acute rehabilitation, and specialized medical services. In 2024, several WNY facilities (Garden Gate, Harris Hill, and Northgate) became the first long-term care facilities in New York State approved to provide in-facility blood transfusions.
