About The Alden Network

The Alden Network originated when Floyd A. Schlossberg, initially a construction engineer, founded Alden Bennett Construction Co. in 1961. In 1971, he opened the first Alden skilled-nursing facility, Alden Lakeland, in Chicago’s Uptown area.

Over time, it has expanded to operate more than 40 sites throughout the Chicagoland area, Rockford, and southern Wisconsin, offering a continuum of care—ranging from short-term orthopedic recovery and post-acute care to assisted living, skilled nursing, memory-impaired care, rehabilitation for young adults, and independent retirement communities.

It is a values-driven, apparently privately held, for-profit organization; CMS chain-level data indicate that of its 27 affiliated facilities, 24 are owned by for-profit corporations and 3 by for-profit limited liability companies.
