Rochester Regional Health

Rochester Regional Health is a nonprofit integrated health system formed in 2014 by the merger of Rochester General Health System and Unity Health System, now serving as a unified provider across Western New York, the Finger Lakes region, and the North Country. Its services include nine hospitals, senior services, PACE program (ElderONE), outpatient care, laboratories (including global clinical trial testing), and skilled nursing facilities.

While RRH itself was established in 2014 through the formal union of two health systems, its constituent hospitals and programs have roots going back more than 175 years, including early efforts in nursing reform and community-based care.

RRH is a nonprofit organization headquartered in Rochester, New York. It operates as a consolidated umbrella for its hospitals, senior care facilities, clinics, and other services. Its subsidiaries include entities like GRIPA, ElderONE, and ACM Global Laboratories.

The system serves an area spanning approximately 13,600 square miles, is the second-largest employer in Rochester, and has over 19,400 employees, including nearly 3,900 nurses and 2,100 providers.

The system includes five skilled nursing long-term care facilities offering 24-hour skilled nursing, therapy services, and specialized programming such as dementia, ventilation, and rehabilitation care. Their long-term care facilities also include models such as the small-home “culture change” model exemplified by Wegman Family Cottages.
