About Medicalodges, Inc.

Medicalodges, Inc. traces its roots to 1961, when Mr. and Mrs. S.A. Hann opened their first nursing home, Golden Age Lodge, in Coffeyville, Kansas. In 1969, the organization was renamed Medicalodges, Inc.

Amid concerns about preserving company culture, in February 1998 the company was acquired by its employees through a 100% Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), making it the first senior care company in the U.S. to become fully employee-owned.

Medicalodges operates approximately 20 skilled-nursing facilities—confirmed by CMS-affiliation data—as of June 2026, across Kansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma.

The company describes itself as a provider of a full continuum of care for older adults and individuals living with developmental disabilities, and lists services such as independent living, assisted living/residential care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, home care, outpatient therapies, and adult day care.
