About Lutheran Services Carolinas

Lutheran Services Carolinas was formed in 2012 through the merger of Lutheran Services for the Aging and Lutheran Family Services of the Carolinas.

The organization is a faith-based, not-for-profit ministry founded and sponsored by the North and South Carolina Synods of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. It has roots dating back to senior services established in 1960 and children's services even earlier.

LSC operates a wide array of services including senior living, child and family programs, refugee resettlement, disaster response, and services for individuals with disabilities and substance-use recovery.

In 2024, LSC directly served more than 10,000 individuals across North and South Carolina, providing substantial support to seniors, children, refugees, people with disabilities, and those in recovery.
