About Generations Healthcare
Generations Healthcare began operations in January 1998 with a single 89-bed skilled-nursing facility, established by Thomas Olds, Jr. Over the years, it expanded primarily throughout California and more recently in Henderson, Nevada, growing to approximately 30 facilities and over 3,100–3,600 beds.
The company remains privately held, led by its founder Thomas Olds, Jr., with a corporate leadership team that includes long-time executives who have been with the organization since its founding or early years.
Generations Healthcare operates skilled nursing and rehabilitation facilities across California, with one newly built facility in Henderson, Nevada. The chain includes about 27 to 30 facilities across these two states.
Beyond skilled nursing, the chain offers memory care, rehabilitation services, and has expanded into behavioral health and a special mental health treatment program in partnership with Nightingale.
Generations Healthcare has branded itself around a mission of “caring for the sick, the elderly, and the infirm is a special and sacred stewardship,” emphasizing kindness, competence, and compassion. They have also been recognized as a 'Great Place to Work' based on employee surveys, with 77% of employees describing it favorably, and were certified for three consecutive years as of a January 2021 announcement.
