Csj Initiatives

CSJ INITIATIVES was formally established in May 2014 by seven U.S. congregations of the Sisters of St. Joseph, who united into a single Congregation. The purpose was to free the sisters from the burden of managing their care communities, enabling professional oversight by a dedicated management partner.

On July 1, 2015, CSJ INITIATIVES assumed sponsorship of Sheridan Village (a 60-unit independent living facility in Wichita, Kansas) and Dillon Hall (a 72-unit independent living facility in Kalamazoo, Michigan). Beginning January 1, 2016, it began managing congregational communities through formal agreements.

By March 2018, CSJ INITIATIVES had expanded its role to manage properties for other religious congregations, and by 2022 it managed six properties in total. In March 2019, the organization assumed sponsorship of St. Francis Senior Ministries, previously overseen by the Sisters of St. Francis.

CSJ INITIATIVES offers a range of services: full-service, start-up, and turnaround management for post-acute, long-term care, and senior living communities; consulting across disciplines; care and support coordination for sisters; and sponsorship services where it functions as sole or joint venture manager—handling clinical programs, policies, and governance. It operates across roughly 12 communities in seven states.
