About Caring Place Healthcare Group
Caring Place Healthcare Group is a third-generation, family-owned company offering both skilled nursing and senior living services in Ohio. It operates four skilled nursing facilities in the Greater Cincinnati area and one in Dayton, plus two senior living communities that provide independent and assisted living options.
Its origins trace back to the late 1960s, when grandparents Sam and Rachel Boymel—Holocaust survivors with no formal education—purchased a convalescent home in Middletown, Ohio. Their personal commitment to caring for others laid the foundation for what would become a regional senior care provider.
In subsequent decades, the family expanded from that single facility to five, under the guidance of Barry Boymel, who learned the business from the bottom up alongside his father-in-law. Today the company emphasizes a model they call “The Caring Way”—a culture inspired by three generations of their family’s commitment to elder care.
The company highlights being family-owned and operated, underscoring that care is deeply personal. Their service areas include Greater Cincinnati and Dayton, Ohio, encompassing skilled nursing, rehabilitation, long-term care, memory care, independent and assisted living, hospice, and respite care.
They have received external recognition, including awards from U.S. News & World Report for “Best Skilled Nursing Facility” and “Best Retirement Community,” as well as four AHCA/NCAL Bronze Commitment to Quality Awards for facilities such as Glendale Place, Oak Creek, Western Hills, and Lodge Retirement Community. Additionally, they report achieving numerous deficiency-free surveys from the Ohio Department of Health.
