CareOne LLC, founded in 1999 by the Straus family, operates a network of senior-care facilities specializing in skilled nursing, post-acute care, assisted living, memory care, long-term acute care, and home health services.

The company was founded in the late 1990s by Daniel E. Straus, who previously built and sold Multicare Companies—a public senior-care operator—before establishing CareOne in 1999.

CareOne LLC is a privately owned limited liability company (family-owned), with Daniel E. Straus as founder, chairman, and CEO. It has numerous wholly owned subsidiary entities that operate individual care facilities.

CareOne operates primarily across the northeastern U.S., with facilities in New Jersey, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania. As of late 2024, it managed 32 facilities; CMS data show 37 affiliated nursing homes across the four states.

The company’s care continuum includes skilled nursing, assisted living, memory care, long-term acute care, post-acute rehabilitation, home care, and independent living services.
